A product developed by a manufacturer of sensors has won an international design award. Balluff, which provides sensing solutions for a wide range of applications and industries, was decorated with the Red Dot Award for Product Design for the Balluff Mounting System (BMS).
The high quality design of the product, which enables sensors and actuators to be easily mounted during machine construction, impressed an international jury of 40 experts.

To have ranked among the best of thousands of product designs across the globe is an enormous achievement. Bryan continued: “With the universal BMS mounting system, sensors and actuators can be easily mounted during machine construction. A few steps are all it takes to quickly and flexibly implement complicated positioning tasks with the heavy-duty standard elements available in the modular system. The new basic holders, joints and sensor offer not only secure retention, but also win with their special design and ergonomics. Our developers have succeeded in creating a highly functional solution with just a few individual parts, allowing the user to implement complicated mounting tasks in a very short time, saving money and creating competitive advantage.”
In recognition of the award success, the BMS device will be included in a special four-week exhibit in the Red Dot Design Museum at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen, Germany.
