The new ultra-compact FP0H, measuring just 90mm x 60mm x 42.4mm, is the latest addition to Panasonic’s portfolio of Programmable Logic Controllers, shifting the focus towards connectivity and communication. Two Ethernet ports serving as a switch allow data to be shared and exchanged via Ethernet with the additional ability of allowing the PLC to communicate with different types of devices simultaneously. The following protocols are supported: EtherNet/IP, Modbus-TCP, MEWTOCOL, and MC protocol. In addition the FP0H offers FTP client/server functionality.

Depending on the customer’s automation tasks the FP0H Controller can be expanded with a range of digital and analogue I/O units together with a range of plug in communication cassettes supporting RS232, RS422, and RS485 communication. In addition the PLC is equipped with an SD memory card slot allowing it to perform data logging functions and also allowing projects to be loaded into the unit without the need of a PC.

Programming is performed using FPWINPRO (IEC 1131-3 compliant) software using the mini USB programming port. Offering 16 digital inputs/outputs the CPU supports digital and analogue expansion units from Panasonic’s FP0R/FPS (Sigma) series PLCs allowing up to 384 I/O points to be realised.
