Future Logistics Summit & Expo, is a new trade show & conference highlighting the digitalisation of logistics, connected freight and intelligent transport systems. To be held at the Manchester Central Convention Complex on the 28th February – 1st March 2018, it has already won the support of ITS UK, the UK association for the promotion of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)

Jennie Martin, Secretary General of ITS (UK) said, “ITS (UK) are delighted to support the Future Logistics Summit and encourage all our members, not just the ones involved in our Freight Interest Group, to take part. We look forward to meeting members and other parts of the industry in Manchester next spring.”

The event is organised by GB Media & Events Ltd. which also runs the successful Industry 4.0 Summit & Factories of the Future Expo, covering the digital transformation of manufacturing, often referred to as industry 4.0, or the 4th industrial revolution.

“Freight and logistics have always seemed to be the Cinderella of the transport industry, with politicians and planners often prioritising the movement of people over the movement of goods. However, for society to function properly, both need to be as efficient as possible and therefore anything that technology can do to improve productivity is welcome,” Martin added.

By co-locating the 2018 Industry 4.0 Summit & Factories of the Future Expo with the Future Logistics Summit & Expo, the organisers will enable visitors to have access to the complete modern digital supply chain from design & development, through to manufacturing & delivery in one place.

Event Director Gary Gilmour explained that digitalisation is creating huge changes in manufacturing, as well as opportunities for companies to become more efficient: “The same is true for the logistics industry and our event will look to address the challenges, threats & opportunities that the digitalisation of logistics will bring. With particular focus on connected freight for air, land & sea, as well as intelligent transport systems, and by co-locating with our manufacturing events, we expect to attract over 2,000 attendees from the manufacturing & logistics communities. It’s the perfect opportunity for businesses to get an understanding of the future supply chain from design & development, through to manufacturing & delivery.”

ITS-UK members are entitled to discounts off conference delegate rates as well as exhibition space. The exhibition is free-to-attend.
