IDS will expand its USB3 Vision camera range by more than 100 models over the coming weeks – this means we integrate the entire range of Sony sensors which are already available with GigE Vision. The new cameras can be used with IDS peak, our brand-new, hardware-independent SDK.

The USB3 Vision cameras will be available both as CP and SE family variants. For the latter, customers can choose between housing or board level versions with different lens holder options. The first model to be released is the U3-3890CP with the IMX226 from the Sony STARVIS series (https://en.ids-imaging.com/store/u3-3890cp.html) The 12 MP rolling shutter sensor combines high sensitivity and low noise for optimal images even in low light conditions. The sensors IMX290 (2.1 MP) and IMX178 (6.4 MP) are now also available as U3V camera variants – each in colour and mono.

U3V cameras can be used with any software that supports this interface. To meet the IDS claim “It’s so easy!”, we also introduce IDS peak. The SDK for Vision-compliant cameras marks the beginning of a new software era for IDS – read more in the article “IDS peak simplifies handling of Vision cameras”.
