New to the National Sales Conference for 2017, the ‘Directors Discussion Forum’ provides peer-to-peer learning for directors from the UK’s largest companies, including FedEx, Hilti, JCB, Kimberly-Clark, Pepsico, Toshiba and Whitbread Group.

For the first time at the event, directors will have the opportunity to learn from each other in the Directors Discussion Forum. More than 40 per cent of the 500 delegates to the conference are director level and above and represent companies including Aston Martin, Aggregate Industries, BAE Systems, EMC, SIG, Oracle, Siemens, EY, Linkedin, FedEx, Hilti, JCB, Kimberly-Clark, Pepsico, Toshiba, Whitbread Group.

The discussion forum has been set up to provide directors with the opportunity to share their challenges and identify new ways to improve sales and business performance. They will decide what topics they want to cover and experienced facilitators will support the discussions.

Commenting on this new innovation for 2017, Steve Lindsey of Lincoln West, organiser of the National Sales Conference, said: “We know that directors value the opportunity to network and learn from each other which is why we have created the Directors Discussion Forum at this year’s conference.”

Lindsey added: “More than a third of our visitors are personally/directly responsible for sales revenues of up to £50 million, so this is a fantastic place to network and share best practice with one another.”

The conference is a must-attend event for anyone responsible for sales and sales training, according to Ben Turner, general manager at the Association of Professional Sales.

Turner said: “This event is about progressing the sales profession. I don’t think there is a place where people in charge of sales enablement, training and delivery can actually get a time and place to share best practice. This part of the conference delivers that. You need to send a day out of the office to understand what other organisations who share your challenges are doing to try and address them. This is the only place where you can go and find that out.”

As well as discussing their own challenges, directors will hear inspirational speakers sharing their insights on sales innovation and future trends.

England’s Rugby World Cup winning coach Sir Clive Woodward will be talking about culture, strategy and change, the three key elements that helped him deliver England the world cup in 2003.

And international speaker and advisor on the future of work, Dr Graeme Codrington, will be looking at the future world of work. He’ll also be exploring how leaders can manage millennials.

Phil Jones, managing director at Brother UK, added: “This event brings together a number of different leaders and lots of different thinking, so you can really make good use of a single day investment in your time”
