The high performance, fixed-mount barcode reader, DataMan 500 from Cognex Corporation is now available for factory automation applications. DataMan 500 is now powered by a proprietary vision chip, called Cognex VSoC which enables DataMan 500 to have barcode reading performance and an ease-of-use said to be unmatched in other systems.
DataMan 500 offers the same 1DMax and 2DMax code reading technology as in other DataMan products for unmatched read rates on even the most difficult 1D barcodes and 2D matrix codes. VSoC technology enables DataMan 500 to offer speeds on 1D barcode reading of up to 90 decodes per second and ultrafast image acquisition with auto-exposure, at up to 1,000 frames per second. DataMan 500 also supports Cognex Connect communication capabilities.
