CKF Systems, the Gloucester-based robotics specialist, announces its strongest year on record with orders totalling £8.7m in 2017 as figures are released that show manufacturing output in the UK is expanding at its highest rate for 10 years.

Formed in 1988, CKF Systems is a leading UK integrator of automated solutions for manufacturing industry, providing high speed robotic pick, place and palletising systems for the food, automotive and logistics industries.

The company starts the New Year with a strong order book and anticipates recruiting a further five engineers in 2018 to meet the demands from a burgeoning global economy.

“It’s a very positive start and a great way to celebrate CKF’s 30th year in business,” explains Robbie Dawson, Sales and Marketing Manager, CKF Systems Ltd. “Manufacturers are looking at ways to meet the upsurge in consumer demand by increasing production whilst reducing costs. We’ve also seen a real change in the way British manufacturers are now recognising the long term value of robotic systems to safeguard their business from a shortage of manual labour resulting from Brexit.”

CKF Systems currently employs 50 engineers at its state of the art facilities, developing latest vision applications and robotic solutions to maintain the competitive edge of its customers. The company recently undertook a restructuring of its management team, nurturing the energy and talent within the business to steer it on its next 30-year journey.

“These are very exciting times for our business, with manufacturers of all sizes showing a growing appetite for robotic based solutions,” continues Dawson. “We achieved 145% of our target in the past 12 months and have the in-house resources and structure to drive further growth.”
