Including easy to read displays, simple set-up and 50ms loop update and sampling period time, Omron’s new E5DC DIN-rail mountable in-panel controller
(right) is the newest member in the E5_C temperature controller range.
At only 22.5mm wide, the E5DC follows the same easy set-up structure as the other models in the E5_C range, but allows the controller to be mounted inside the panel, thereby leaving space for other components.
The large high contrast white LED display featured by these controllers can be read from a distance at almost any angle, irrespective of the ambient lighting conditions, maximising user convenience and virtually eliminating the risk of reading errors.
Set-up is made easy by the incorporation of an auto-tuning function, and easier still by Omron’s CX-Thermo support software, enabling faster parameter setting and straightforward device adjustment as well as greatly simplifying multiple device configuration and maintenance.
Accurate and responsive control is assured by the fast 50ms loop update and sampling period time of the new controllers and by the use of Omron’s 2-PID
control algorithm. This patented algorithm provides enhanced control stability, which guarantees consistent product quality.
Also new from Omron is the D4SL-N safety door switch (left) which allows mounting in areas where space is restricted, which is especially useful on small machine access points, and those constructed with a compact aluminium profile.
Installation is aided through a flexible mounting system which allows the unit to mount from any direction, and with both axial and radial key holes the switch can be easily utilised for both sliding and levered doors. A wide range of key actuators are available, providing flexible installation. Articulated types are available to provide a solution for doors which suffer from misalignment.
The D4SL-N also has the option of using a micro-connector cable system that reduces installation time. With a key holding force of 1,300N and the option of a metal actuator head, the D4SL-N achieves high levels of device robustness and durability.
With the option of up to six contacts, the D4SL-N provides flexibility with regard to monitoring, allowing independent diagnostics of the state of the door position
and lock status.
