Global technology provider, Arrow Electronics, is demonstrating the strength and breadth of the solutions it provides for the industrial Internet of Things at the Hanover Fair. The Arrow stand (Hall 5, G53) showcases a range of industrial IoT demonstrations relating to predictive maintenance, machine vision, connected logistics, device management, and energy harvesting. Arrow is also exhibiting in the MindSphere Lounge (Hall 9).

Arrow is showing how to connect sensors, controllers, actuators and smart devices to one another, and over the Internet. The demonstration also includes how to integrate that data to provide performance-enhancing feedback. Arrow’s approach takes into account the fact that much existing industrial equipment and critical infrastructure predates IoT and has, at best, only local connectivity. Solutions will be discussed that bring this connectivity up to date and prepare systems for potential future technology changes.

Increased connectivity brings greater security challenges. Arrow’s IoT solutions provide security “from sensor-to-sunset” and Arrow will show a series of software solutions covering real business-use cases.

In the MindSphere Lounge in hall 9, Arrow is demonstrating several solutions including an end-to-end smart asset tracking use case in collaboration with Siemens. This combination of indoor and outdoor asset tracking enables users to track assets throughout the entire lifecycle of the manufacturing process. The resulting location data, combined with condition-monitoring information, can help to improve process workflows and productivity.
