Exaktera will demonstrate machine vision across food, logistics and rail at VISION 2026, using live displays to show the customer benefits of working with a single-source partner to address complex application challenges and specify the right mix of lighting, laser, optical and enclosure technologies.
Visitors to Hall 10, booth 10C50, at Messe Stuttgart from 6 to 8 October will see a logistics scanning portal, a bakery inspection line, hygienic food displays and a rail inspection demonstration.
Cindy Ye, CEO of Exaktera, said: “Customers usually start with a problem rather than a specific product. They may need to read a barcode at speed, detect foreign material that a color camera cannot see or make a reliable outdoor measurement over time. As we offer the most flexible technology platform, our experts can evaluate the complete application challenge and specify the exact mix of lighting, laser, optical and enclosure technologies needed to solve it.”
The logistics display recreates a warehouse scanning portal, with LED and laser modules reading labelled cartons. The demo shows how the technology can be used for faster processing, scanning mixed objects of different sizes, often with reflective packaging or damaged barcodes.
A bakery inspection line demo will check baked goods for size and shape, color and surface, foreign material and 3D profile or volume. A short-wave infrared hyperspectral camera detects a color-matched foreign body that could be missed by a conventional color camera, while a laser carries out the 3D inspection.
Separately, an LED bar light will also show how it continues operating even while submerged in circulating water, thanks to its IP69K washdown rating and the importance of enclosure design in hygienic applications.
Simon Stanley, Senior Director of Technology at Exaktera, said: “We’ve set up these real-world demonstrations to show visitors just how variables like the amount of daylight, line speed, the materials reflectance and washdown conditions can all change what a camera sees and how a system performs. Having a single technology partner who can deliver and integrate the entire setup ensures customers get the right combination of solutions tailored to their exact operational requirements.”
The rail display features a large 3D printed train emerging from a tunnel backdrop on printed rails. Three rail inspection areas will be demonstrated: the rail, the wheel and the pantograph to overhead-line interface illustrating how application-specific laser illumination can support reliable machine vision systems in demanding rail maintenance environments.
At the show, Exaktera will also launch its new global brand, bringing leading machine vision brands under one roof, including Advanced Illumination, autoVimation, LUMIMAX, ProPhotonix, VisioCablePro and Z-LASER. By providing LED lighting, lasers, optical measurement systems and protective camera enclosures from a single partner, Exaktera simplifies integration and ensures customers receive the right mix of complementary technologies, supported by sales and engineering teams across North America and Europe.
