The new Afolux AFL-08A-N26 PanelPC  features an 8.4 inch resistive touchscreen and is available with Windows 7 Embedded (WES7) pre-installed for out of the box operation. It is based on a 32nm Intel Atom dual core 2600 1.6GHZ processor with up to 2GB of 800 MHz DDR3 SDRAM running under the NM10 chipset. The Intel GMA 3600 graphics controller supports SVGA 800x 600 high performance video playback and two speakers are built-in. The IP64 sealed bezel allows use in dusty environments when fitted into a control panel. The bezel is a mere 7mm thick and with an overall depth of 41mm, the compact device requires very little space, fitting into a cut-out measuring 223 x 175mm. Panel mounting or wall mount kits facilitate easy installation. Fanless operation ensures long-life reliability and low noise, enabling the unit to be used in applications where a low-cost, high-throughput touchscreen computer is required. Typical uses are in machine controllers, production process management, home automation equipment, medical instruments, ticket kiosks, security systems and many similar sectors.

The AFL-08A-N26 operates from a 9V – 28VDC wide range external power source or from a 90 – 264VAC universal AC/DC converter providing a nominal 12VDC output. Connection is via a lockable DC jack. An 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN capability comes as standard and there are two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB2.0 ports and a RS232 and RS232/422/485 serial port. Mass storage is via an mSATA module.

Fanless low power box PC with Intel Baytrail SoC

The ASRock iBOX-210, a self-contained small form factor (200 x 135 x 39mm) embedded PC that features very low power consumption, fanless operation and high performance. The iBOX-210 is available with either the E3826, J1900 or N2930 22nm Intel Atom Baytrail System on Chip dual and quad core processors with up to 4GB of DDR3 1333MHz in a single slot. The device supports Linux and Windows 7 and 8 OS. The highly integrated Baytrail SoC provides a powerful computing engine for applications where high resolution display or image capture is required. It supports VGA or HDMI displays up to 1900 x 1220 @ 60 Hz. The graphics and media engine is based on the Intel Gen7 HD graphic processor, which supports graphics burst, Open GL ES 3.3 and hardware video codec acceleration of multiple media formats. The rugged construction of the aluminium body gives good protection when the unit is embedded in applications such as mobile computing where shock and vibration are likely to be present. The body also acts as an efficient heatsink when the system is used in less mechanically demanding Point of Sale, kiosk, and automation applications.

HDD or SSD mass storage can be added in the single 2.5” drive bay. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB3.0 and two USB2.0 ports and two serial ports are provided. Two mini PCIe expansion slot enable additional functionality such as WiFi to be implemented; alternatively, one of the slots can be specified as an mSATA interface providing an alternative storage device. Power is supplied from an external 9 – 36 VDC supply.
