FlexLink started as part of SKF back in 1980 where we launched our first and still best-selling conveyor platform, the XL – but it’s really in the past 20 years that the company has come into its own, going from strength to strength.
During the 20 years leading up to 2003, FlexLink opened operating units in Australia, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Spain, USA and the UK, amongst other countries. Focusing on our geographical growth, we were able to take the skills and knowledge already acquired in established offices, and transfer them to our new areas of growth. In the mid 1990s FlexLink launched our heavy duty platform, enabling us to work closely with the automotive industry for the first time; a part of our history which is still a strong focus today.
As we found our strength within FMCG, Automotive, Electronics and Pharmaceutical markets, product development continued as we introduced various new conveyor platforms and services, including the wide belt conveyor, the automatic guiding system and the Dynamic Flow Concept.
Having been owned by equity firms for a number of years, FlexLink was acquired by the industrial group, Coesia in 2012; making us part of a growing group of companies, specialising in advanced automation, industrial process solutions and precision gears.
Continuing with our history of innovation and product development, FlexLink launched the hygienic modular wide belt conveyor in 2014. The new conveyor platform has opened many doors for FlexLink, allowing us to move further into the food production process and work closely with food manufacturers to understand their processes, procedures and hygienic requirements, something which we had been unable to do previously.
Much of the information about FlexLink’s history has come from the people who work here; many members of FlexLink have been with the company since the beginning. The last twenty years has seen some amazing, as well as turbulent times for us and our customers. Continued product innovation, close connections with our customers and the professionalism and experience of our teams has allowed us to continue to grow.
