Helix Technologies, developer of precision antennas for highly accurate GNSS positioning and navigation has been selected to join the Wayra Intelligent Mobility (IM) Accelerator programme, which will give the business six months of development opportunities, including access to Telefónica and its partner networks and routes to technology development and deployment, as well as the potential for investment in the business.

The Intelligent Mobility (IM) Accelerator, a partnership between Connected Places Catapult and Wayra UK, is designed to bring selected disruptive start-ups with high-growth potential into the UK transport supply chain, and to support their growth into world-leading companies. As the innovation hub of the Telefónica Group, Wayra provides a unique and effective interface between entrepreneurs and their network of corporates, governments and other partners in the 15 countries in which Telefónica operates.
Helix Technologies precision antennas resolve key issues concerning the future of autonomous vehicles and drones – accuracy, integrity and security of location-based situational awareness. Precise accuracy of location is key to unlocking the full monetised and safe potential of driverless cars and autonomous logistics, enabling higher vehicle bandwidth on road networks, increased productivity, and energy saving throughout the transportation network.

James Lewis, Chief Executive Office at Helix Technologies said: “As a developer of technology that directly impacts human safety issues for the planned deployment of autonomous land, sea and air vehicles, we are delighted to be a member of Wayra’s IM4 cohort. As well as pushing the boundaries of antenna and RF design, we are implementing a sophisticated machine-learning data-analytics adaptive fabrication platform for the products, and Wayra’s network short-cuts us into the supply chain as well as prospective customers and investors. I’m looking forward to working with the highly supportive Wayra team for the next six months.”
