More flexibility and performance for industrial applications
Kontron, a leading global provider of IoT/Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), extends its KBox portfolio by a family of embedded Box PCs with high-performance Intel® processors. The new KBox A-150 family is available with various performance class CPUs, depending on control task complexity and the performance required. The cost-optimized Box PCs are designed particularly compact for flexible deployment on DIN Rail. Its broad range of interfaces allows high interoperability, scalability as well as providing future security. The KBox A-150 family are well suited for deployment in fieldbus environments, process control, as well as industrial firewalls, and a lot of embedded applications.
High performance at low energy consumption – this tenet applies to all five versions of the new KBox A-150 series. The series is available with Intel® Dual as well as Quad CoreTM processor technology. Versions featuring Intel® Celeron® J1900, Intel® Core(TM) i5-4300/6300/7300U, or Intel® Pentium® N4200 are currently available. The KBox A-150 was designed for control cabinet applications: It can be deployed in environments with limited space thanks to the flexible DIN Rail mounting options and compact design. The fanless, robust design guarantees longevity and high availability despite rough industrial conditions and temperatures between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius (with heat sink). A turnable heat sink is available as an option.
All variants can be expanded by a mPCI card. Additionally, two to three 10/100/1000 MBit/s Ethernet ports are available on all KBox A-150 versions.
The KBox A-150 supports Kontron’s Security Solution APPROTECT based on WIBU Systems. In tandem with a specifically developed software framework, it provides full IP and copy/reverse engineering protection through a Wibu-Systems security chip. For secure cloud connectivity, a TPM 2.0 Security Chip is available as an option. The Kontron KBox A-150 series is Microsoft Azure Certified and can be easily used with Microsoft Azure IoT Services.
The KBox A-15x series is available in variants with different Intel® processors. Currently available are:
