Over the next few weeks, we are exhibiting at Machine Builder Live on Wednesday 2nd October at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull which is across from the NEC.
This is the second year that Machine Builder Live has been held and it will be a great event particularly if it’s a busy as last year. Free to enter, the doors open at 8.30am and close at 3.00pm

In addition, we are holding MakeUK’s Meet the Maker event at our facility in Plymouth on the 15th October. With some excellent, high quality guest speakers, lots of dynamic displays created by our sales partners and a full factory tour it’s going to be a brilliant day.

We have expanded our machine building business following the acquisition of the brand and most of the assets of CME Automation Systems following its recent liquidation.
It’s always sad to see a business that’s been trading for over 40 years end in administration and it’s even sadder when they are based, like ourselves, in the South West of England. However, we’re very much looking forward to working with CME customers in the future and we believe that by running the business as an entity within our existing Engineering Division it will provide us with some exciting new possibilities.
CME will continue to use their logo alongside Applied’s and will join Engineering Solutions, Build to Print and Marine Solutions Divisions as ‘Applied Automation – CME Solutions’ located at large our manufacturing facility and HQ in Plymouth.
This acquisition is an opportunity to increase our sales in the FMCG packaging sector and to expand our services to existing CME markets in both North America and Europe.
To ensure the smooth transition of the business several key members of the CME team have now taken up positions within the company.
