With its new C6-3070, AT – Automation Technology is opening new horizons in 3D image processing as a leader in innovation. AT has developed a unique sensor chip for the next generation of 3D laser triangulation sensors with the new Widely Advance Rapid Profiling (WARP) technology. With a profile speed of up to 38kHz at an image resolution of 3072 x 201 pixels, this sensor is so galactically fast that inspections in industries such as semiconductors, steel or transportation take on a completely different dimension. With just this combination of enormous speed and higher resolution, AT offers in its portfolio the currently fastest 3D sensor worldwide – and this in three variations. The new C6 3070 product is available as a 3D camera, as a 3D compact sensor and as an MCS sensor for the modular 3D sensor series of the northern German technology company, so that it can be used completely flexibly.
In addition, the new C6 series from AT has the unique features MultiPart and MultiPeak, which allow the recorded 3D data to be evaluated in even greater detail and the customer benefits from a significantly more comprehensive and stable analysis capability of the 3D sensor. MultiPart enables the simultaneous output of up to ten different image features, regardless of the pixel format and algorithm. In addition to the height values, the user also receives intensity data, for example. These provide information about the so-called reflectance, which evaluates the contrast representation, as well as the scatter value, which analyzes the surface texture. Instead of the previous simple point cloud, not only can a photorealistic representation of the inspection object be generated, but 2D inspection tasks such as character recognition or inspection of QR codes can also be implemented very easily.
Thanks to MultiPeak, highly reflective materials such as metal, plastic or glass can be scanned without interfering reflections. If several laser reflections exist on the inspection surface, the MultiPeak feature helps to distinguish between them and to output up to four profiles with peak data separately. In this way, multiple laser reflections can be easily checked for plausibility on the application side and, if necessary, eliminated from the evaluation data as disturbance variables. The major advantages: The customer receives a clean profile evaluation and can significantly improve his quality control.
