CVS trevista Multiline from STEMMER IMAGING is the latest development of the innovative CVS trevista surface inspection system. It allows 100% inspection of challenging surfaces on components that are moving or rotating. In combination with appropriate handling systems it allows a high throughput of components and maximum flexibility.
As with existing trevista systems, the CVS trevista Multiline is based on Shape-?from-Shading technology and employs a special illumination approach to display surface properties of surfaces in fractions of a second and in various result images. The information is separated over two channels to separately inspect the brightness and the topography of the test specimen. This cost-effective system allows a highly stable, reliable and objective evaluation of surface properties in the µm range with a minimum of false rejects.
CVS trevista Multiline features an area scan camera which reads out individual sensor lines. In this way the test specimens are recorded over several lines. Depending on the application and camera used, this allows inspection speeds of up to 300 mm/s.
This new system records 3D information with excellent image quality and can make qualitative statements for even the smallest topographical defects. The system provides suppression of brightness and differences in gloss, allowing the inspection of the most diverse materials from shiny metals to matt ceramic surfaces as well as the inspection of curved surfaces.
As the illumination and the camera are rigidly connected via a sensor head in this system, elaborate adjustment between the camera and illumination is not necessary. The standardised design allows easy in-?process integration as well as simple retro-?fitting into existing inspection cells. A choice of software environments is available for image manipulation, including Common Vision Blox (CVB) by STEMMER IMAGING and Sherlock by Teledyne DALSA.
