Schneider Electric has today announced automation enabler, 2M Automation, as the winner of a recent competition to win an exclusive Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Starter Pack offering.

The Manchester-based automation specialist won the prize draw following an exclusive competition, which ran at Smart Factory Expo 2016 in November this year.

A one-off promotion, the IIoT Starter Pack comprises an all-in-one bundle of entry level IIoT enabled devices alongside a day’s training and consultancy with Schneider Electric. As the competition winner, 2M Automation now has an easy-access, low-cost and risk free opportunity to trial Schneider Electric’s industry leading IIoT technologies and benefit from the energy management and automation specialist’s industry expertise.

The IIoT Starter Pack brings together a wide range of IIoT enabled technology, which will offer 2M Automation the building blocks for:

1.     Optimised operations (HMISTU855 and Harmony XB5S)

2.     Wireless device connectivity (XB5R Pushbuttons and XCKW sensors)

3.     Energy saving and monitoring (Acti 9 iEM3000 and ATV320)

4.     Open connectivity (connecting plan to business) (Modicon M251 and SoMachine)

5.     Training and consultancy (Tested Validated Documented Architectures (TVDA))

2M Automation is an established industry automation player with 14 years’ experience in delivering robust robotic software design and fully tested and proven automation products. Following its initial meeting with Schneider Electric to discuss implementation, it is now setting up a training session to test all of the starter pack kit and ascertain what the potential for the business might be.

“We are thrilled to win this prize and get the opportunity to work with Schneider Electric. We are excited to use the technology in high-speed pick and place applications in particular, as well as to learn more about Schneider Electric’s Delta robot, said Mulemba Kandeke, a co-founder and lead engineer at 2M Automation.

Martin Walder, vice president of industry at Schneider Electric commented: “This promotion highlights our continued commitment to support organisations industry-wide to innovate at every level. We are extremely excited to begin integrating the Starter Pack into 2M’s infrastructure and help it embrace the benefits of growing connectivity.”
