servoimg1The New compact Multinet drives from Servo Components & Systems Ltd are available with 3 or 4 axis, incorporating either RS232, CANopen or EtherCAT communication. These high performance, DC powered drives control both stepper or servo motors.
Each axis is configurable to drive a stepper, brushless, or brushed DC motor. Using advanced FPGA technology, this capability provides a significant reduction in the cost per node by combining stepper and servo motors into a compact multi-axis package.

Each axis in these Multinet drives operate as an EtherCAT node under DSP-402 or a CANopen node under CiA-402 for motion control devices.

Supported modes include: Cyclic position/velocity/torque, Profile Position-Velocity, Interpolated Position Mode (PVT), and homing.

Servo mode of steppers allows position/velocity/torque control. Servo mode allows CANopen or EtherCAT or digital PWM control of position/velocity/torque. In microstepping mode stepper command pulses and master encoder for camming or gearing is supported.

High-speed digital inputs with programmable functions are provided and the outputs are 24V compatible. An SPI port is provided with one high-speed input and four high-speed digital outputs. If not used for SPI, the input and outputs are programmable for other functions.

An RS232 serial port provides a connection to Copley’s CME2 software for commissioning, firmware upgrading, and saving configurations to flash memory. The EtherCAT port is magnetically isolated and the CANopen port is optically isolated.

Drive power is transformer-isolated DC from regulated or unregulated power supplies. An AuxHV input is provided for “keep-alive” operation permitting the drive power stage to be completely powered down without losing position information, or communications with the control system.

The modular linear units are designed to make the work of technicians and engineers easier. 3D models, units assembled with drag chains, as well as different multi-axis combinations provide solutions ready for fast and precise positioning. Everything is included: profile, guides, linear motor, measuring system, end blocks, connectors, limit switches, and drag chain.

The linear motor is based on synchronous technology, which offers considerable advantages in dynamics, accuracy, and durability. The integrated oil supply in the guide allows it to operate without any maintenance. The range of linear motors is fully compatible with the Copley Controls amplifiers or any other component drive available, easy plug & play allows fast commissioning of your application.

The powerful iron core of the MLE motor, in combination with the most compact linear unit provide an opportunity to integrate them in high speed applications. The New MLL series iron core motor is a price-optimised linear motor axis. Stroke lengths of up to 2000mm are comparable in price with solutions based on tooth belt drives or ball screws. This means that, for the same price, you have the possibility to integrate higher performance and up-to-date direct drive technology into your machine.

The MLU series are fully integrated linear units with ironless motors and their lightweight compact design offers a good choice for a wide range of applications.
