Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2015 returns to
Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2015 is without any doubt one of, if not the most influential exhibition for UK engineering. At close to 18,000 square metres, and hosting around 800 exhibitors, the show ranks alongside any in the country for size, and is increasingly being viewed as a key event for European firms looking to approach the UK manufacturing market.
The addition of another day to the exhibition’s tenancy makes the show significantly more attractive to international exhibitors, and the consequences of this can be seen in the exhibitor list for 2015, which features an unprecedented number of overseas organisations. For visitors, this delivers a outstanding opportunity to meet some of Europe’s top suppliers in a single domestic venue. The show is free for visitors and offers free onsite car parking. The new three day format now makes it even easier to incorporate a visit into the working week.
As always, there will be lots to see: In 2015, visitors will yet again meet a remarkable number of manufacturers, from leading machinery suppliers which includes Ajax Machine Tools, Amada, Bystronic, Bruderer, Trumpf, Yamazaki Mazak, XYZ Machine Tools, Haas Automation, CMZ and Matsuura, to all kinds of component, production hardware, consumable and engineering service.
On the Electronics side of the event, there are numerous big name suppliers: Mouser Electronics, Arrival Electronics, Anglia Live, Sinclair & Rush (formerly Component Force), Midas Components and many more. For those seeking production automation and inspection systems, there’s Blundell Production Equipment, MYDATA Automation, Cupio/Yestech amongst many others. Along with the hardware, the show is one of the primary market places in the UK for service providers such as PCB manufacture,
One of the major attractions of the show is that it combines virtually every aspect of engineering enterprise in a single event. At one show, it’s possible to see everything from live machinery demonstrations from some of the world’s leading manufacturers, to the latest in electronics design and production. With Technology Trails guiding visitors around the venue, it’s possible to meet suppliers from many different disciplines who are active within a particular sector. The Aerospace Trail, for example, might include electronics firms and OEM manufacturers as well as precision engineering.
The complimentary technical seminar programme that runs over the three day show in two theatres is another important aspect. The programme for 2015 delivers a notable line-up of authorities from industry, academia and commerce, among them The CE Marking Association, TUV SUD, York
Entry to the show and also the technical seminars is free to business visitors, and
