Solving challenging imaging problems

Stand E01, Vision UK@Photonex, The Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK, 14 & 15 October, 2015

stemmer imageA number of different demonstration systems will showcase STEMMER IMAGING’s ability to solve challenging imaging problems. These will include the identification of micron-sized defects in material surfaces and acquisition and sequencing of high speed images. Also on show will be a random movement tracking system.

STEMMER IMAGING’s novel Trevista Surface 50 inspection system is supplied complete with structured diffuse illumination, lens, software, PC and a 5 megapixel Genie TS camera from Teledyne DALSA. Using a patented “shape from shading” technology, information on the three-?dimensional shape of an object can be deduced from the shading of its surfaces. This allows defects of just a few microns diameter and depth to be detected on a variety of material surfaces. Visitors to the show can bring their own samples along to put this to the test.

Also on show will be a high speed imaging system which will show image sequences produced from a miniature roller coaster system. The sequences are generated from high speed images acquired into the ring buffer of Common Vision Blox (CVB), STEMMER IMAGING’s own hardware-independent imaging toolkit.

The random movement tracking system illustrates the use of the ShapeFinder tool also from Common Vision Blox. CVB ShapeFinder uses object recognition based on geometric information. It is a search tool for determining the position of objects on the basis of their internal and external contour points.
