Stand A44, PPMA Show, NEC, UK, 29 September – 1 October, 2015

A number of different demonstration systems will showcase STEMMER IMAGING’s extensive range of vision technology products and expertise at the PPMA Show. This will include many aspects of package inspection; high-speed inspection and visitors are invited to bring their own samples to see high-resolution surface defect detection in action.

STEMMER IMAGING’s novel Trevista Surface 50 inspection system is supplied complete with structured diffuse illumination, lens, software, PC and a 5 MPixel Genie TS camera from Teledyne DALSA. Using a patented “shape from shading” technology, information on the three-?dimensional shape of an object can be deduced from the shading of its surfaces. This allows defects of just a few microns diameter and depth to be detected on a variety of material surfaces. Visitors to the show can bring their own samples along to put this to the test.

The package inspection demonstrator will illustrate a wide variety of inspection applications including OCR and print quality as well as 3D inspection using laser triangulation. It features cameras from a number of different suppliers, including Allied Vision, Teledyne DALSA and JAI. The cameras, with resolutions ranging from VGA to 5 Mpixels and operating at different frame rates to suit the particular inspection are located on a continuous conveyor system.

Also on show will be a high speed imaging system which will show image sequences produced from a miniature roller coaster system. The sequences are generated from high speed images acquired into the ring buffer of Common Vision Blox, STEMMER IMAGING’s own hardware-independent imaging toolkit.
