Speedy France (part of the Kwik Fit group) has announced an improvement in the availability of its products and a reduction in inventory following its decision to implement OPTIMIZA, the inventory management and demand planning software from Barloworld SCS.

It follows the decision by Speedy France to centralise the management and planning of inventory of its 300 owned branches in a drive for further efficiency. Key drivers for Speedy France included a desire to improve demand planning, identify stock profiles in each centre and have the ability to replenish stock automatically, to support the growth of sales and improve profitability.

Aymeric le Her, purchasing and commercial strategy director at Speedy France explained, “We want to provide the best possible service to our customers by offering the right product at the right time. To achieve this, we need central control over our inventory in order to forecast and react to changing market demand. The implementation of OPTIMIZA has allowed us to achieve that result whether it is on the improvement of product shelf availability or stock valuation. After more than a year and a half use of OPTIMIZA to run our tyres section, Speedy France has reduce its inventory by 25%, improve the immediate availability of products by 15% and increase its sales volumes.”

Ed Gooch, operations manager at Barloworld Supply Chain Software added, “We are working with Speedy France to put inventory optimisation decisions back in the hands of the senior management. Our experience with Kwik Fit in the UK means that we are in a strong position to advise Speedy France on the specific challenges that the company faces, and offer advice on how gaining better control over their supply chain can yield positive results.”
