MACH 2016 is the showcase exhibition for advances in the manufacturing industry brought to you by the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA). This year’s event is located in Halls 4 and 5 of the NEC, Birmingham and takes place between 11 and 15 April

The UK’s premier manufacturing technologies exhibition, MACH 2016, has now officially sold-out. With a month to go before this festival of UK engineering kicks off, MACH exhibition organisers the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) are pleased to report that all exhibition space has now been allocated.

James Selka, CEO of the MTA says: “MACH is a great barometer for judging the health of the UK’s manufacturing sector. And I am happy to report that the prognosis is excellent this year, as MACH 2016 is a sell-out!

“MACH 2016 has all the hallmarks of being a fantastic showcase for the UK’s advanced manufacturing technologies sectors. With working demonstrations of machinery, a compelling seminar programme and some of the finest names in manufacturing all under one roof, visitors to this edition of the exhibition will need more than one day to experience everything show has to offer.”

OVER 600 EXHIBITORS

The biennial exhibition has over one hundred years of heritage and prides itself on being at the forefront of technological developments. This edition is no different; particular feature points of the show include expanded Zones focusing on additive manufacturing, automation, metrology and software solutions, as well as the traditional milling, turning, and tooling.

Over 25,000 square metres of exhibition space has now been allocated, which translates into 600 plus exhibitors, with thousands of tons of working equipment – of which there is planned to be a staggering 15 per cent more on show than in 2014. The number of visitors to the show is set to increase and initial estimates indicate that over 25,000 visitors will pass through the exhibition over the five days.

Selka adds: “MACH 2016 is set to be a real celebration of everything great and good in the UK manufacturing sector and a fantastic shop window for UK PLC.”

MACH is unique in the sense that it showcases live working machinery and brings together the industry’s finest manufacturers across a range of technologies including; milling, turning, metrology, additive manufacturing and tooling, to name but a few. With live demonstrations and a packed seminar programme MACH 2016 is the place to get business done.

SEMINAR PROGRAMME

The seminar programme will be supported by two dedicated theatres and will feature compelling talks by some of the industry’s best known OEM’s and institutions including; Airbus, Messier- Dowty, McLaren, Cranfield University and HS2. On the Wednesday (13 April) of the exhibition the seminar programme will take an in-depth look at Industry 4.0 and on the Thursday (14 April) it will be turning its attention to Additive Manufacturing with a particular focus on the 3D printing revolution.

HEADLINE SPONSOR

For the third consecutive show Lloyds Banking Group are headline sponsors of the exhibition. David Atkinson, head of manufacturing, SME commercial banking, says: “Manufacturing is a hugely important sector to Lloyds, as it is to the UK economy as a whole. It is natural therefore that the Bank is so supportive of MACH 2016. MACH is the biggest event of its kind in the UK and the hub for the nation’s advanced manufacturing sector. It provides an opportunity for Lloyds to interact with a huge number of key players in the sector as well as thousands of manufacturing businesses. Of course we’re keen to help those looking to invest but even more importantly it is an opportunity for us to learn more about the sector and those operating in it.”

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT ZONE

As well as showcasing new technologies and the latest products, MACH 2016 will also be welcoming the next generation of talent to the exhibition. A dedicated Learning and Development Zone will act as a base for student visitors as well as housing some key exhibits and a showcase of MTA Members’ apprentices and graduates at work.

The MTA is delighted to announce that Sandvik Coromant will once again be sponsoring the Zone, demonstrating their support for bringing young people into the industry. Featured organisations within the Learning and Development Zone include the AMRC, the Bloodhound SuperSonic Car, the Ministry of Defence as well as a chance to see the next generation of engineers in action with our Apprentices at Work demonstrations.

James Fudge, MTA’s head of events, says: “The MTA is once again honoured to have Sandvik Coromant sponsoring the Learning and Development Zone. The MTA is always looking at new ways to encourage young talent into the industry and the Learning and Development Zone at MACH 2016 will do just that.”
