From Monday 2nd July, the Laidler Associates and Safety Systems machinery safety services will be marketed under the name of TÜV SÜD Product Service. This change comes 2 years after the acquisition by the TÜV SÜD group of Laidler Associates and Safety Systems and their integration within TÜV SÜD Product Service Ltd as the company’s Machinery business.

This rebranding of the Machinery Safety services coincides with the launch of a new UK TÜV SÜD website, www.tuv-sud.co.uk, which will replace the existing TÜV SÜD Product Service, Laidler and Safety Systems websites. Restyled to fall in line with a new global corporate look, the new website for the first time also includes information on the wider range of TÜV SÜD’s UK services, including those from our Industry and Real estate divisions.

What does this mean for you?

After Monday 2nd July, there will be no material changes in the services provided to you except that these will now be sold under the name of TÜV SÜD Product Service instead of Laidler Associates and Safety Systems.  All our contact details will remain valid, including phone numbers and email addresses, although over time e-mail addresses will migrate to a new TÜV SÜD format.

Machinery Safety Solutions Road Show

As part of the re-branding process, TÜV SÜD are launching The Machinery Safety Solutions Road Show,  highlighting not only key safety issues for machine users, but also practical solutions using some of the latest products on the market..

According to statistics taken from the HSE Prosecutions database, over 63% of breaches under PUWER for the manufacturing sector are from Regulation 11: Dangerous Parts of Machinery. When you also include the maintenance, suitability of machinery and training requirements, the figure rises to over 80%.

  • Are you aware of your legal, machinery safety responsibilities?
  • Are your machinery policies and procedures current and relevant for today’s environment?
  • Do you know where to go for independent advice and expertise?

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Your legal responsibilities: CE Marking and PUWER
  • Functional safety: leaving EN 954-1 behind
  • Dangerous parts of machinery 1: Physical guarding solutions
  • Dangerous parts of machinery 2: Interlocking and control systems
  • Safe maintenance: beyond isolation

During breaks in the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to see some of the latest developments in safety technology and talk to leading experts and suppliers.
