VISION 2026 is entering the final stages of preparation with impressive figures, a high level of international participation and new formats. Around 500 exhibitors, innovative programme highlights and an expanded supporting programme underscore the role of the world’s leading trade fair for image processing as a global industry hub.
From 6 to 8 October 2026, the international image processing industry will gather at VISION in Stuttgart. As the world’s leading trade fair for image processing, VISION 2026 offers a unique overview of the most important suppliers, technologies, trends and innovations – all condensed into three days in the heart of Europe.
At VISION 2026, visitors will experience the full spectrum of image processing: from cameras, optics, lighting, software and processors right through to turnkey systems and bespoke application solutions for a wide range of industries – such as the automotive sector, mechanical engineering, logistics, electronics manufacturing, medical technology and many more. Future-oriented topics such as embedded vision, hyperspectral imaging, deep learning and AI-based analysis highlight why image processing is a key technology for Industry 4.0 and modern automation.
VISION is characterised by its particularly strong international focus: leading companies and specialists from all over the world use the trade fair to present new products, initiate collaborations and expand their networks. VISION 2026 will thus once again become the global meeting place for decision-makers, developers and users seeking high-performance yet practical solutions.
Technical programme with new formats
In terms of content, VISION 2026 focuses on further development and new impetus. Numerous formats will address current trends and future topics in machine vision.
VISION Award: The prestigious innovation prize is now in its 27th year. The coveted VISION Award is traditionally presented at the VISION trade fair. A high-calibre jury uses this prestigious award to recognise the best innovation in the field of image processing. Award-winning companies showcase their developments directly at the trade fair, bringing their innovations to life.
Industrial VISION Days: In collaboration with VDMA Machine Vision, the industry’s largest conference forum is being organised once again. Around 80 presentations over three days will cover trends, new products, start-up pitches and discussions – including the award ceremony.
Scientific VISION Days: In collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), research organisations will present the latest findings from research and development. All presentations will also be available on demand afterwards.
Guided Tours: In partnership with Vision Markets, VISION is offering guided tours and crash courses for end-users and machine builders. The thematic focus is on Aerospace & Defence, Automotive & Battery Manufacturing, and Electronics & Semiconductors. New this year are tours on the topic of vision and AI, organised in collaboration with the VDMA.
Start-up World: Around 30 start-ups will present their innovations – ranging from sensor technology and AI to complete vision systems. Daily awards and a new ‘Start-up Happy Hour’ will foster networking between industry and the start-up scene.
Synthetic Data Symposium: The symposium on synthetic data in AI training is making its debut. In cooperation with Fraunhofer IPA and Fraunhofer ITWM, experts will discuss the use of synthetic data to address the shortage of training data in industrial applications.
VISION Makeathon: Another new feature is the Makeathon, where students and young professionals work alongside exhibitors on real-world machine vision projects.
A particular highlight in 2026: VISION will take place alongside Motek/Bondexpo, as well as EFX – Expo for Electronics Manufacturing and Quantum Effects. A single ticket grants access to four complementary technology trade fairs and creates valuable synergies in the fields of automation, electronics manufacturing, quantum technologies and image processing. As a result, in early October 2026, Stuttgart will become a hub for technological innovation and the ideal platform for experiencing the future of industrial image processing first-hand.
