Rapid News Communications Group (RNCG), has confirmed the sale of the MM Live cluster of events to Datateam Business Media. This cluster comprises MM Live, MEMS Live, and Nano Live all of which focus on small and ultra precision part technologies.

In September this year, Datateam co-located its sensors exhibition with MM, MEMS and NANO Live at the NEC, a strategy that proved popular with visitors due to the significant overlap in technology usage. Both events saw a significant growth in visitor numbers, confirming that a close working relationship between these two events would be beneficial.

RNCG chief executive officer, Mark Blezard, said: “We are delighted to have signed the deal with Datateam. Their understanding of the market means the events will be in good hands. Our plans are to continue to collocate our events with Datateam at the NEC again in 2013 so it will be business as usual for exhibitors and visitors. This deal has also helped us free up resources for our new event Mediplas, which focuses on the use of plastics in medical devices. The event’s debut was a phenomenal success and we are really excited about the show’s prospects for 2013.”

Managing director of Datateam, Parvez Kayani, said: “The acquisition of the MM Live cluster of shows marks an important and exciting step in the growth and development of the events division of the Datateam business. It follows the extremely successful co-location of the events with our own sensors exhibition this year and will allow us to expand our rebranded Sensors & Instrumentation show in 2013. This will be run alongside MM Live, MEMS Live and Nano Live and I am very happy that we will be continuing our excellent working relationship with Rapid News by once again co-locating with their Mediplas and TCT Live shows making this one of the largest and important manufacturing focused events of the year.”
