US machine tool builder Haas Automation has announced the appointment of Mr. Jens Thing to the role of managing director, Haas Automation Europe.
Danish national Mr. Thing is a respected machine tool professional with more than 25-years experience in sales, marketing, technical and management positions. In recent years he has achieved success in global marketing management for well-known, multi-national manufacturing technology companies. His appointment is part of Haas’ strategy to double annual world-wide sales to $2billion.
“Jens Thing has an excellent understanding of Haas products, our customers and our markets here in Europe,” says Mr. Peter Zierhut, VP European operations. “We have set the goal of doubling Haas sales revenue around the world over the next few years. Most of this new business will come from outside of the US, and Europe will be a key contributor. Jens is perfectly qualified to ensure we achieve these goals. He will lead an excellent and experienced team at our Brussels office and work with Haas Factory Outlets around the Continent to grow our business.”
Mr. Thing holds an MBA from the University of Toronto, Canada, and the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He currently resides in Ipsach, Switzerland with his wife Ariane, their two teenage children.
