At SPS IPC Drives 2016, HIMA is presenting comprehensive solutions for controlling turbomachinery, pipelines, burners and boilers. Under the motto “No Limits. Go Beyond Safety,” HIMA Paul Hildebrandt is presenting comprehensive solutions comprising hardware, software and services at this year’s edition of SPS IPC Drives.

The flexible, ready-to-use safety applications include all components and services necessary to control and monitor turbines and compressors (FlexSILon® TMC), burners and boilers (FlexSILon BCS) and gas and liquid pipelines (FlexSILon PMC). By integrating all major functions of each application in a single system, the solutions enable safe and cost-effective plant and equipment operation. On November 22-24 at Stand 440 in Hall 9, trade fair visitors can learn about the benefits provided by comprehensive solutions for TMC, BCS and PMC.

HIMA FlexSILon solutions are ideal for implementing safety and critical control applications. They are built on the HIMax® safety system, which enables automation of turbines, burners, boilers and pipelines. HIMax includes not only safety functions but also functions for controlling the applications.

“HIMA offers comprehensive safety solutions worldwide,” said Hartmut Leistner, Sales Manager DACH at HIMA. “Our solutions allow plants and equipment to be operated with high availability and cost-effectively, without compromising safety. Integrating all major functions in a single solution considerably reduces the engineering and cabling expense. What’s more, systems built with this integrated approach are more robust than applications composed of discrete components, due to the diagnostics depth and comprehensive redundancy options. Our FlexSILon solutions enable uninterrupted operation over the entire life cycle. The optimally coordinated deployment of devices and components ensures maximum system safety with extremely high availability and cost effectiveness.”

The core components of FlexSILon TMC (Turbomachinery Control) are the proven HIMax system, the configuration, programming and diagnostic tool SILworX®, and the turbine and compressor expertise of experienced HIMA engineers. The comprehensive solution includes standardized and certified turbine and compressor functional modules, which are individually adaptable. The modules are complemented by solutions for visualization (human-machine interface; HMI), local operation, and sequence-of-events acquisition. FlexSILon TMC also provides integrated redundant overspeed protection for SIL 3 and complies with all major international standards.

The related application FlexSILon BCS (Burner Control System) is a comprehensive solution for the automation of burners and boilers, which fulfills all requirements for safety specified by international standards for combustion equipment. The core components are the proven safety systems HIMax, HIQuad, Planar4 and HIMatrix®, the configuration, programming and diagnostic tools ELOP II and SILworX, and the expertise of experienced system engineers. HIMA system engineers support customers over the entire safety life cycle, including consulting, basic engineering, procurement, engineering design, programming, installation, commissioning and after-sales service.

Finally, FlexSILon PMC (Pipeline Management Control) covers the full spectrum of automation functions for pipelines, including control systems with advanced SIL 3-capable and high-availability leak detection and localization systems as well as complex pipeline management. A component of this solution is the FLOWorX pipeline software, which enables excellent pipeline performance with long-term stability.
