OKW has launched a new larger size of its SNAPTEC fast assembly IP 65 plastic enclosures. SNAPTEC offers a rapid solution for medical or home automation systems and small devices with low voltage electro-technical components (potentiometers, time controllers, coded control units) or electro-mechanical components (relays, fuses).
These modern low cost sealed enclosures feature snap-on lids for easy assembly. Lid removal for disassembly or servicing is equally fast using either SNAPTEC’s nylon opening tool or a screwdriver. The tool is included, along with cover plugs for the access holes.
SNAPTEC’s IP 65 sealing gasket is pre-fitted in the lid – speeding up installation – and there is a recess to accommodate a membrane keypad or label.
The bottom section has high walls, offering plenty of space for fitting cable glands and interfaces. Hidden screw shafts make wall mounting easy. Alternative external wall mounting brackets are also available as an accessory.
SNAPTEC is moulded in light grey (RAL 7035) ABS (UL 94 HB) as standard. The new size is the biggest in the range at 100 x 100 x 80 mm; the other two sizes are 60 x 60 x 40mm and 60 x 100 x 40mm. Prices start at £10.
Accessories include pressure equalisation elements (IP 56), TPE and EPDM cable grommets (IP 67), self tapping screws (3 x 6mm PZ1) and the aforementioned wall mounting brackets.
SNAPTEC can be customised with bespoke colours, flame-retardant V-0, EMC shielding, CNC machining, lacquering, printing of logos and legends, adhesive foils, display windows, membrane keypads, plastic and aluminium panels, installation and assembly.
