Industrial IT solutions provider, SolutionsPT, is set to deliver a whitepaper on the role of Operational Intelligence in manufacturing at an upcoming seminar.

The free event, ‘Operational Intelligence: Big Data and Real Time Analytics in Manufacturing’, will take place on Tuesday October 7th 2014, from 10:00 to 15:30, at the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester.

Designed to allow attendees to explore the benefits of Operational Intelligence (OI) technologies, the event will see the presentation of the SolutionsPT sponsored whitepaper entitled: ‘From Data to Actionable Information: Improving Operational Processes by Deploying Operational Intelligence’.

The report gives an insight into what will be the new sources of competitive differentiation for the factory of the future in the next five years and points to intelligent use of data as a key tool for manufacturing businesses.

The event will also focus on a number of other core areas, including:

· How operational intelligence relates to other terms, such as business intelligence and enterprise manufacturing intelligence

· How businesses can ensure they remain competitive as data usage accelerates

· What options are out there in terms of technologies and practical applications

· What other manufacturers have achieved with OI

The event’s keynote speaker will be Lorenzo Veronezi, senior research analyst at International Data Corporation, who will discuss in depth the specially commissioned report on OI and its current and potential impact on UK manufacturing.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the latest OI solutions from brands such as Schneider Electric, Wonderware and Dassault Systèmes, whilst hearing testimonials from other companies that have already implemented OI.

SolutionsPT’s OI product manager, Mike Charles, said: “There is now no doubt that many manufacturers understand the need to work smarter with their data in order to increase efficiencies and competitive advantage. What is highlighted in IDC’s paper is exactly how Operational Intelligence can help achieve this. I’m very much looking forward to hearing what UK manufacturers have to say after they’ve heard the findings.”
