ajun10balluffBeing able to read and write data to RFID tags using handheld programming units can easily and reliably manage the data available and in some cases dramatically increase the visibility and effectiveness of the process. This is especially true for manual rework stations or at manual delivery and inventory collection points, such as shipping/receiving or stocking areas. The availability and access to the process data at these points can also lead to a reduction in manufacturing and processing errors.

Balluff’s new rugged, industrial-grade handheld for portable reading and writing of data carriers in the Balluff BIS RFID identification system is a modular expandable device with IP 65 protection and integrated read/write head. Practical and well-engineered accessories such as an optional pistol grip enable ergonomic and non-fatiguing operation. For portable reading of bar or matrix codes with the handheld as well, Balluff offers an image or laser scanner.

Thanks to the pre-installed Balluff software the device is ready to use out of the box and simple to operate. Data can be managed conveniently from a keyboard or using a stylus. A colour display provides accurate viewing even under difficult lighting conditions. Users can select various display modes; even password management of MIFARE data carriers is possible.

An optional software development package allows users to create their own screens and applications. If requested, Balluff can also provide ready to use custom versions. An optional W-LAN module can be used for wireless transmission of data to controllers, printers or PCs having a WLAN interface. Bluetooth is also possible for close-range applications.
