New CameraLink frame grabbers from Euresys now implement ECCO. ECCO stands for ‘Extended Camera Link Cable Operation’. This feature allows Grablink Full, Dual Base and Base to go beyond the Camera Link specifications in terms of speed and/or cable length at no additional cost.
Depending on the clock frequency and the quality of the cable, which can drastically vary from one cable to another, ECCO allows the new Grablink boards to operate with cable lengths in excess of 30 per cent, compared to those specified by the CameraLink standard, and those achievable by the other boards with a ‘conventional’ implementation of the standard.
