ifm electronic’s reader for 2D codes and barcodes has added features
The O2I series 2D and 1D code reader from ifm electronic with its integrated lighting, different interfaces and large variety of operating distances and field of view sizes, is suited for a large number of industrial applications. The latest versions, the O2I300 series, have been upgraded, employing new and improved evaluation software. These new algorithms can reliably solve applications in the field of 1D bar code recognition. Also, significantly, the new O2Dthe evaluation time for the code recognition is reduced.
The reduction in read time is also improved by up to 100ms. Another major feature is additional availability of the quality parameters for bar codes where just reading or verifying the code is not enough.
Extra code types have been added to the library, e.g. MicroQR and Aztec, codes, and the autodetect function for code types has been improved.
The user also has the possibility to program the switching outputs himself, e.g. an LED is to be activated in the event of a positive reading result.
For data output of several codes the user can number the codes and thus significantly simplify the evaluation in the controller.
The six units in the ifm’s O2I300 series, covering various fields of view, with options for visible or infrared illumination, are very competitively priced compared with other CMOS image-based code readers.
