Innovative Remote I/O Solutions for the Ex Area
The ANTARES plus remote I/O system from BARTEC can be connected to any current control with various bus systems (PROFIBUS-DP, ProfiNet, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP). The system is certified in accordance with the current ATEX and IECEx standards. It is installed directly in the Ex area in zone 1+2 or zone 21+22. Thanks to the intelligent certification system, it is possible to achieve a flexible system certification, particularly for zones 1 and 21. ANTARES plus has its own certification for every module and a flexible system certification. For the first time, plant engineers can now freely plan and design their system and install it in a mechanically protected, standard industrial enclosure. An Ex system type plate is included in the manufacturer’s delivery. Assembly and installation follows the general installation procedure for potentially explosive environments.
Due to its high capacity reserve, the system offers efficient and compact I/O configurations. Up to 32 multichannel modules can be supplied via a single rail control unit (RCU), resulting in a very large number of input/output channels. The RCU is the central unit of the system, with host communication, Ethernet switch, power management, and I/O data management. Standard bus systems can also be coupled directly to the system, making additional explosion-protected components unnecessary. Genuine communication redundancy via PROFIBUS–DP is ensured by the uninterruptible operation with the host system. This guarantees constant availability. Furthermore, the RCU and all I/O modules are hot-swappable. Thus, there are no downtimes.
The associated ANTARES plus designer software allows the system to be projected and configured with just a few mouse clicks.
