Penny + Giles, has development of its SRH500 range of contactless rotary position sensors with the introduction of two CAN bus interface versions.
The SRH520CN integrates additional electronics to provide either J1939 or CANopen options according to ISO/DIS 11898. Historically, position sensors were connected indirectly to CAN networks via analogue input/output (I/O) modules. More recently many position sensors with integrated CAN interfaces have been developed which, like the Penny + Giles SRH520CN, avoid cost-intensive I/O or gateway modules.
SRH520CN sensors are housed in marine-grade aluminium with an 87.5mm diameter flange and a 12mm diameter shaft; and are designed to meet the harsh operating requirements of heavy duty industrial position sensing applications including construction, agricultural, military and utility vehicles; as well as a variety of uses in steelworks, marine equipment and power generating plants.
