panasonic pr e news pic 1The new FP-XH combines a compact and durable PLC with a built in motion controller. The CPU has 16 digital inputs/outputs and in addition is equipped with 4 high-speed inputs. The PLC can be expanded with Panasonic’s range of digital and analogue expansion units from the FP0R and FP-X series PLC’s.

The FP-XH has built in electronic clutch, cam and gear functions in addition to interpolation functions for linear and circular motion.  The positioning parameters can be set using the PMX Configurator software to assist in the configuration of profiles and is included in the PLC programming software Control FPWIN Pro 7.

The FP-XH uses Panasonic’s tried-and-tested RTEX communication bus (Realtime Express) and is a real-time communications bus for high-end applications.  Thanks to its high transmission speed and sampling rate this fast, real-time Ethernet bus for automation is particularly well suited to highly dynamic single and multiple axis position control tasks as the communication between master and slaves happens in real time. Mounting and connecting the FP-XH is very easy, the loop wiring ensures a fail-safe performance and uses standard Ethernet cables (Cat 5e, up to 100m distance between units).

The high speed nature of the RTEX bus system gives a distinct increase in performance and productivity in applications that are traditionally solved with programmable controllers using digital and analogue I/O.  Working with the Panasonic MINAS A6N / A5N series of servo drives systems the FP-XH offers a cost effective solution for applications requiring up to 8 axes.

The MINAS A6 series is an innovative servo drive range that stands out by its highly dynamic range of drive controllers offering the most modern technologies and a large power range whilst maintaining a lightweight and compact design. Thanks to its innovative electronics, the MINAS A6N motion controller allows precise positioning. Special functions and a bandwidth of 3.2kHz help to reduce vibrations whilst the controller can also reach 350% of the rated torque at speeds of up to 6500rpm and has a 23-bit encoder (incremental / absolute).
