Heavy-duty position sensors from ifm electronic

Position sensors for hydraulics are nothing new, but these new sensors from ifm electronic are the toughest yet, and come at a great price.

The new MFH and M9H sensors are designed for operation at 500 bar, but can take peaks of 1000 bar (and have been tested to 2000 bar), because the entire construction is stainless steel, including the sensing face. They also cope well with the temperatures prevalent in hydraulics, having a maximum operating temperature of 120 º C.  The high IP rating (up to IP69K) ensures that they will survive in wet conditions, too.

The MFH features a standard M12 thread and is available in two lengths as well as different output versions, while the M9H has an M14 thread, allowing both to be fitted to standard hydraulics. Both types connect via an industry-standard M12 connector.  Using an ifm connector will guarantee performance.

Besides use as a limit switch in hydraulic cylinders, these sensor can also be used on other hydraulic components such as valves or pumps. Other high-pressure applications in mechanical engineering processes, such as in plastic injection moulding, where challenging pressures and temperatures occur are tailor-made for the MFH or M9H. The new MFH and M9H series sensors offer an impressive performance at a competitive price.

ifm is committed to working closely with its customers to develop products which precisely match their needs, and the company provides expert, readily accessible technical support to help users maximise the benefits they gain from ifm products.
