The latest version of the IDS Software Suite for industrial cameras from IDS (Imaging Development Systems GmbH) is now available for free download. The new version (Version 4.80) not only supports the upcoming USB 3 uEye CP camera models that are equipped with incredibly fast PYTHON CMOS sensors from ON Semiconductor but is now also WHQL certified for Windows 10 as well as Windows 7 and 8. It is also available available Linux and Linux Embedded.

Four new CMOS sensors from ON Semiconductor, the PYTHON 500 (0.5 Mpixel), PYTHON 1300 (1.3 Mpixel), PYTHON 2000 (2.0 Mpixel), and PYTHON 5000 (5.0 Mpixel) will soon be implemented in the USB 3 uEye CP range of cameras. The sensors are characterised by their unique ability to partially read out applied AOIs (Areas of Interest) both horizontally and vertically. As a result, they reach a top speed of more than 1,000 fps. This makes these new sensors ideally suited for use in slow motion or high speed applications as well as in classic industrial and visualization tasks.

By simply adjusting the pixel clock and activating the camera memory in the uEye Cockpit within the IDS Software Suite, the sensor speed can be increased depending on the camera model. This is perfect for users with high-frequency applications such as eye tracking or ophthalmology. The 1.3 Mpixel UI-3140CP featuring the PYTHON 1300 sensor can achieve a maximum speed of more than 220 fps at full resolution (1280 x 1024 pixels) meaning that it is the fastest USB 3 machine vision camera with this sensor on the market.

IDS Software Suite 4.80 also offers line scanning functionality for USB 3 uEye CP models thanks to the ‘Vertical AOI Merge Mode’, specially developed by IDS. This enables the user to flash per line, if desired, and therefore to use different light sources in a single application.

The IDS Software Suite is available in 16 different languages.
