Polymer bearing, energy chain and cable specialist igus will be showcasing its products designed and developed specifically for the machine building industry at this year’s Machine Building Show at the NEC in Birmingham from 30th September – 1st October. Key new products on display include the drylin W linear guide, the E4.1 light energy chain and the readychain rack.

Visitors to the igus stand will be able to view the drylin range of linear slides and drive systems. The drylin W range is a modular system that offers excellent wear and friction properties.

The drylin E (‘E’ for electric) range offers a complete linear drive solution, integrating DC motors, linear switches and chainflex motor cables. Available in X, Y and Z-axis units and other gantry systems, this compact and lightweight range can be configured online.

Also on show will be a full range of e-chain systems; the E4.1 is a light-weight version targeting applications that require heavy fill weights over short un-supported travels. In addition, the E4.1 crossbars snap-open easily to allow instant access to the cables and hoses inside.

The galvanised steel readychain rack enables machine builders to transport pre-harnesses energy chains from igus right to the machine on the shop floor. Its modular design allows the rack to be quickly assembled according to the length of e-chains and cables, then disassembled for storage and re-use.

The chainflex hybrid servo cable is specifically designed to simplify servo drive systems; by combining power and bus cable elements, they are a cost-efficient alternative to multi-cable solutions. The igus chainflex hybrid servo cable is guaranteed for millions of cycles in constant flexing applications in e-chains at a bend radius of just 10 x cable diameter.

A highly wear resistant and maintenance-free solution is the PRT self-lubricating slewing ring which enables users to improve the performance of their machines, while reducing cost. They are ideal for OEMs looking for a simple ready-to-install solution, in machine tool applications such as for monitor pivot points, assembly lines, material handling areas and robots.

Throughout the exhibition, experts from igus will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on selecting bearings, energy chains and cables for your own specific application.
