Exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics show for the first time this year is James Walker Keaflex. Based in Bordon, Hampshire, the company specialises in elastomer engineering and provides a comprehensive service for the design and manufacture of elastomer components. Its capabilities include the design and manufacture of complex 3D components. Tooling is designed and manufactured in house, and a rapid prototyping service assists fast time to market.

James Walker Keaflex is more than just a manufacturer of rubber mouldings, and achieves the highest standards of quality and precision in moulded products, often working to tight dimensional tolerances not generally associated with the manufacture of mechanical rubbers.

The company works closely with customers to provide a customised service, from design to prototype and on to full production, providing complete solutions to customers’ exacting requirements.

Its fully integrated 2D and 3D modelling CAD/CAM software is directly linked to the company’s machining centres for precise reproduction of injection and compression mould tools. This enables rapid development of prototypes for shorter times to market.

This in-house design capability can be applied from single cavity through to complex multicavity moulds and special purpose tooling, jigs and fixtures. The company has a large range of existing mould tools, built up over decades of experience.

James Walker Keaflex’s experienced team of skilled engineers has extensive knowledge of elastomer moulding and machining techniques, including rubber-to-metal bonding, to provide customers with robust process engineering solutions.

The company has a long history of innovation and customer support, from product design and process improvement, problem solving, adapting / modifying existing equipment through to manufacture. Its expertise includes reverse engineering.
